With Power over Ethernet technology - PoE for short - an additional power supply is no longer necessary.

The simultaneous power and data supply of IP end devices is carried out via the established Ethernet network cable. This saves costs and reduces the effort. PoE-capable end devices can thus also be connected in hard-to-reach locations where no power connection is available. At the heart of any PoE infrastructure are switches with different PoE power budgets.
